
HCMC’s 2008 Spring Flowers Festival attracts 400,000 visitors

The Spring Flowers Festival 2008 of HCMC, which lasted 12 days (from 5 days before Tet to the 6th day of the Lunar New Year) wrapped up on Tuesday, having attracted approximately 400,000 visitors, Saigon Giai Phong reports.
According to Mr. Tran Thien Ha, Manager of Green Park Company of HCMC, tourists commented that the arrangements were more spacious, and the displays more professional and more beautiful this year.
The board of examiners has approved the results of 13 categories. In total, 365 prizes have been confirmed for 269 artisans including one prize for excellence, two Special prizes, 36 golden prizes, 73 Silver, 89 bronze and 165 consolation prizes.
The prize for excellence was awarded to the Dalat Ornament Organism Association (Dalat-Lam Dong) for their Pinus krempfii , artisan Cao Van Phuong (Tan Chau-An Giang Province) received a special prize in the apricots category, and artisan Pham Quoc Anh (Bao Loc-Lam Dong Province) received a special prize in the orchids category.
