Ba Ria – Vung Tau festival to open with a cannon shot
The southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau will organize its cultural and tourism festival from the 1st to the 10th of lunar January (February 7-16).
The event aims to introduce the location’s cultural identity and tourist sites as well as its economic potential to Vietnamese and international visitors and investors.
The festival will be opened with a grande ceremony. Provincial authorities have purchased three cannons and 30 shells from the Southern Weapon Institute to use at the festival. A cannon shooting event will be held at 6pm, February 11 at the foot of Minh Dam Mountain.
During the festival, there will be a fair-exhibition introducing Ba Ria – Vung Tau’s cultural, tourism and sports achievements and a photo exhibition themed “Spring in Vung Tau”. The key event is activities held at the Nghinh Phong Park from February 14-16.
Especially, the Young World Chess Tournament will take place in Vung Tau City during this time, from February 12-16 at the Bai Truoc Park in the East Sea tourist zone. A Unicorn – Lion – Dragon dance, human chess, kite flying, beach volleyball, folk games, etc. will be held.
Island districts of Ba Ria – Vung Tau will open their own festivals with different themes, for example Xuyen Moc with “Xuyen Moc economics,” Con Dao with “Spring Flower Festival” and Long Dien with a tourism exhibition.
